HOW TO USE:

1. Prepare the Refractometer: Open the daylight plate and clean the prism surface thoroughly with a soft cloth. Ensure it is dry.
2. Calibrate the Device (Recommended before first use and periodically): Place a few drops of the included distilled water onto the prism. Close the daylight plate gently. Look through the eyepiece. The light/dark boundary should align with the "0" mark on the scale. If it doesn't, use the included screwdriver to turn the calibration adjustment screw until it does.
3. Collect the Sample: Use the eyedropper to collect a small amount of the fluid you wish to test (battery electrolyte, ethylene glycol, or propylene glycol coolant).
4. Apply the Sample: Place 1-2 drops of the collected fluid onto the main prism. Close the daylight plate gently, allowing the liquid to spread evenly across the prism without air bubbles.
5. Read the Measurement: Hold the refractometer up to a light source (natural daylight works best) and look through the eyepiece. The light/dark boundary will intersect the appropriate scale for the fluid being tested. Read the value indicated at this intersection.
6. Clean After Use: After each test, immediately clean the prism and daylight plate with a soft, damp cloth and then dry thoroughly to prevent residue buildup and maintain accuracy. Store the refractometer in its padded case.
